ELEV8 SCOOP Outline

Scoop caters to beginners looking to discover the sport for the first time and advanced beginners will continue to develop fundamental skills and gain further confidence in lacrosse.   There will be frequent changes of activities and predictable routines and that build basic movement and fundamental skills  in the context of lacrosse. ELEV8 professional coaching staff offer lots of praise and reinforcement to keep players engaged. Players can expect non-stop active engagement, in a relaxed, inclusive, positive and fun environment! Achieved through stations, games and activities; 1:1 ball to player ratio including self-directed play.

ATHLETIC DEVELOPMENT 

Running, jumping, hopping, twisting, turning, stopping, starting, static balance.

Dynamic balance, bilateral coordination, throwing/tossing and catching away from body with either hand, flexibility, strength.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Introducing running with the ball, scooping, throwing, catching, cradling, exposure to all skills, experimentation, terminology.

Proficient at stick handling and scooping, Exploring and developing other fundamental lacrosse skills–catching, passing, shooting, cradling, dodging. 

TACTICAL STRATEGY DEVELOPMENT

Experimentation with body, stick and ball in a defined space containing “special” areas (ie goal). Stopping, starting, changing pace, running to open space.

Developing 1v1 and 2v2 offence and defensive concepts, exploring 2v1 offensive and defensive concepts.

Bring your helmet, gloves and indoor running shoes, we’ll share our sticks or you are more than welcome use your own.

Geoff Snider, has played 19 Seasons of professional lacrosse. His complete dedication at all levels of the sport is both genuine and passionate. Geoff is compelled to assist ELEV8 student-athletes reach their maximum potential while creating enriched training and learning opportunities both on and off the field.
