Meng Meun Young
Meng Meun Young is a Calgary girl through and through. A multi-sport athlete who competed in field hockey, track & field, cross country, and lacrosse, she came to the sport of field lacrosse a little later than most — but made up for it fast.
Meng Meun trained with the ELEV8 Elite Girls Program and played her junior lacrosse with the Calgary Junior Cardinals. Her talent quickly stood out on the provincial stage — she earned a spot on Team Alberta’s U19 Team and won a Silver Medal at the Canadian U19 Women’s Lacrosse Invitational Tournament. She also captured a Silver Medal in the Calgary Midget Box Lacrosse City Finals. A graduate of Western Canada High School, she went on to sign her NLI and compete at the NCAA Division I level as an attacker with Quinnipiac University.
After completing her collegiate career, Meng Meun returned to Calgary to give back to the programs that helped shape her. A longtime coach with both Calgary Field Lacrosse™ and ELEV8 Lacrosse, she brings her own journey — from late bloomer to NCAA athlete — as inspiration to every girl she coaches.
