Growing up in Calgary, Jolan Morey was introduced to lacrosse early — following in the footsteps of her father and younger brother on the box lacrosse floor. She quickly fell in love with the sport’s demands for grit, teamwork, and tenacity, and as women’s field lacrosse began to take root in Calgary, Jolan embraced both disciplines.
Jolan played minor box lacrosse with the Calgary Hornets and minor field lacrosse with the Calgary Field Lacrosse Club before competing at the junior level with the Junior Cardinals. She also represented Team Alberta Box Lacrosse, earning three Provincial Box Lacrosse Championships along the way. A key part of her development came through ELEV8 Lacrosse — training and competing with the Elite Girls Travel Team and sharpening her skills year-round through the ELEV8 Winter Training Girls Hybrid program.
Her work ethic earned her a spot at Lenoir-Rhyne University (NCAA Division II) in Hickory, North Carolina, where she played attack for the Bears. She had a breakout sophomore season in 2022, recording 29 goals and a team-leading 35 assists for 64 points — the third-most assists and ninth-most points in a single season in program history — and was named to the SAC Second Team All-Conference. As a junior in 2023, she started all 18 games, added 22 goals and 16 assists, and contributed 34 draw controls.
Now back home in Calgary, Jolan has returned to ELEV8 — the program that helped shape her — as a coach and mentor. She brings her NCAA experience, elite competitive background, and genuine passion for the game to the next generation of female lacrosse players. In 2026, she also joined the Cardinals coaching staff, further expanding her impact in the Calgary lacrosse community.
Jolan embodies what ELEV8 stands for: an athlete who faced adversity, outworked the competition, and now gives back to the sport she loves.
